Donald Trump Praises Brittany Mahomes as Taylor Swift Caught in the Middle

Former President Donald Trump thanked football wife Brittany Mahomes for her support of his 2024 presidential campaign.
Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been attacked recently on social media for liking posts that suggest she is supporting the Republican ticket this election season.
“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump posted to Truth Social. “With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless “leaders,” it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM.”
Newsweek emailed the Trump campaign Wednesday afternoon for comment.
Followers allegedly noticed that Mahomes liked a post on Trump’s account that outlined the Republican Party’s platform for the 2024 election, including deporting “pro-Hamas radicals” and keeping “men out of women’s sports.”
Screenshots and a screen-recorded video indicated she liked the post, but according to a review by Newsweek, her account is not among the 400,000-plus “likes” on the post.
“Brittany Mahomes just outed herself as a Trump supporter,” one person wrote.
Mahomes. 28, also does not follow Trump on Instagram at the time of writing.
“Patrick Mahomes, imagine marrying someone who doesn’t care about your rights and your kid’s rights. Brittany Mahomes agreeing with Project 2025 but married to a black man with mixed kids is insane,” another post read.
Mahomes posted to her Instagram story last week condemning the “haters.”
“To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” a post on Brittany Mahomes’s Instagram story read. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed, and you hate to see others doing well.”
She later shared a screenshot of a post, which read “Contrary to the tone of the world today….you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind.”
In text below the screenshot, she wrote “Read that again!”
Candace Owens, a conservative political commentator, has stood up for Mahomes during a podcast episode. She argued that Mahomes should be able to like whatever post she wants, especially during an election season.
“Britney Mahomes is under fire, uh, because she liked a Trump post, it’s like a thing right now, I guess. You’ve gotta love Hollywood. We’re so accepting. We just love everyone. Love is love, love, love,” she said.
Fans of Taylor Swift, Mahomes’s friend from the football season since their partners are on the same team, have not held back, though.
“Taylor about to enter football season and NOW brittany mahomes comes out as a trump supporter… i cant remember the last time the taylor nation WASNT in flames i f**ing hate it here,” one person wrote via X.
Trump recently posted to Truth Social images of the pop singer dressed like Uncle Sam, similar to a World War I recruitment poster, with the words: “Taylor Swift Wants You To Vote For Donald Trump.”
Trump captioned the post on his Truth Social account with the words: “I accept!”
Swift has not responded and has yet to endorse a candidate this election. That, however, is not stopping over 20,000 her fans from joining a Zoom webinar kickoff call last week for Swifities for Kamala, raising over $122,000 for Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz.
Trump seems to support Mahomes, though, no matter the ongoing controversy.
“What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!” Trump posted.
